I'll be honest, the only reason I went with Timney is because Trigger Tech refuses to come out with a version of their Diamond trigger for the RPR; I wanted something light (8oz total) without having to go to a Jard Trigger.

I was pretty happy with my factory trigger. It had a repeatable break at about 1.25lbs, but I thought I'd give the Timney a try. The first thing I did when I got it was adjust the trigger as light as it would go. Unfortunately, I was having issues for the first few hundred firings (including dry-firings) where the break was wildly inconsistent; it would randomly break at 12oz-1.5lbs. I removed the trigger and soaked it in naphtha. I hit it with compressed air, let it dry, and lubed it with lighter fluid. Without changing anything, I reinstalled and lo and behold! It started working great. Trigger would break at a repeatable 14-15oz total. I've put a couple thousand rounds through my rifle with it in primarily windy and dusty environments...I've yet to clean the trigger since the first time.

Despite my initial struggles, I'm really enjoying this trigger. It continues to perform great, however I still wish it was lighter. For most shooters, it will be plenty light. As far as I know, Timney is still the best aftermarket trigger option for the RPR.

  • Timney straight trigger replacement.

I can not describe how much better this trigger is to factory. I disliked the center blade in the factory trigger. The factory setting for this trigger is great with no need to adjust.

This trigger is matching my other Precision Ruger Rifle with the same set up. I really like the Ruger trigger but this timney trigger is more functional for me. I just enjoyed my other Ruger Rifle (6.5 creedmore).

Awesome trigger, huge improvement from factory trigger. I liked my factory trigger, liked it better after taking spring out. Bought the Timney and it made a huge improvement! Highly recommend grabbing one of these for your RPR
