Description
Action Rod for Ruger Precision & American Rifles
This rod will slip directly into the action of all short action Ruger Precision and Ruger American models. This rifle action rod provides overall support for those needed barrel changes, giving the user the ability to swap the barrel with ease.
The rifle action rod has a flat mating surface that easily grips in a standard bench vise. On the opposite end, it has precision-matched external lugs. These lugs mate to the inside of the receiver at the exact spot of needed support.
This rifle action rod eliminates any need to grip the outside of the barrel, which could potentially mar the surface finish. It also removes unnecessary stress on the receiver.

Action Rod for RPR
I really needed this action rod for my RPR barrel swap. Online videos showing how easy changing out an RPR barrel with an armorer’s wrench and a barrel vice are misleading! Yep it’s easy once you break the barrel nut loose from the action. But that was almost impossible without a 3 foot cheater bar and a torch to warm things up a bit. I finally broke it loose by turning the nut away from the action towards the barrel stop but the action followed the nut. This isn’t supposed to happen. I couldn’t get the action and nut to separate. I ordered the action rod and had it in 3 or 4 days. With the action rod, barrel vice and armorer’s wrench I was able to separate the action and nut, then it all spun off by hand. The action rod was also very important to keep the action from rotating when setting the correct torque on the barrel nut after setting the headspace. The action rod is machined excellently to fit the RPR with very little play. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
